Overcoming Fears and Phobias
Helping you replace fear with calm and confidence
Persistent fears and phobias are not signs of weakness or irrationality.
They are most often the result of a nervous system that learned—at some point—to associate specific situations, sensations, or experiences with danger, even when that danger is no longer present.
Fear responses can develop from many sources, including:
a past frightening or overwhelming experience
chronic stress or prolonged anxiety
early life conditioning or learned responses
illness, injury, or medical trauma
sudden loss of control or safety
repeated exposure to fear-based situations
Learned fear responses become automatic. The body reacts before the thinking mind has time to intervene. You can’t control fear or phobia with will power.
Life doesn’t always allow us to avoid the things that trigger fear. Avoidance means living a restricted life.
I help people restore an inner sense of safety in those situations that used to cause fear and panic.
Working together, I help you to :
reduce automatic fear responses in the body
resolve the original pattern that created the fear
reduce reactivity to specific triggers or situations
build internal stability and confidence in the present moment
create new responses that replace fear with steadiness
restore choice and flexibility to daily life
What People Notice Changing
After working with me, people report:
reduced intensity of fear reactions
feeling calmer and more grounded in triggering situations
increased confidence and sense of control
less avoidance and restriction in daily life
greater trust in their ability to handle challenges
a renewed sense of personal safety and freedom

About My Office
My office is located at 71 King Street, Northampton, MA.
Free off-street parking is available in our lot. I am located on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator. There is a therapy dog who works with me. She is a gentle, non-allergenic 25-pound cockapoo. She is trained to assist clients.
Clients come to my office from across Western and Central Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, Northern Connecticut, and Eastern New York.
I also offer services virtually via Zoom.
Why working by Zoom is a good option.
Zoom sessions are often more effective than people expect. Many clients find it easier to relax, focus inward, and integrate the experience when working from the comfort and privacy of their own home — without travel or scheduling strain.
Zoom is not ideal for every situation. I use clinical judgment to determine when remote work is appropriate and may recommend in-person sessions when that’s the better fit. Zoom is also commonly used for second and third sessions once the work is underway.
